چکیده
Searching for gravitational waves from compact binary coalescence (CBC) is performed by matched filtering the observed strain data gravitational-wave observatories against a discrete set of waveform templates designed to accurately approximate expected signal, and are chosen efficiently cover target search region. The computational cost scales with both number required parameter space in-band duration waveform. Both these factors increase in difficulty as current improve sensitivity, especially at low frequencies, may pose challenges third-generation observatories. Reducing would make searches future detector more tractable. In addition, it be easier conduct that incorporate effects eccentricity, precession or light sources (e.g. subsolar). We present hierarchical scheme based on reduced basis method decrease conducting matched-filter search. Compared methods, we estimate without any loss speedup factor ~ 10 signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) least =6.0, 6 SNR 5. Our dominated linear operations which highly parallelizable. Therefore, implement our algorithm using graphical processing units (GPUs) evaluate commercially motivated metrics demonstrate efficiency GPUs CBC searches. can extended generic allows efficient GPUs.

متن کاملA Level Set Reduced Basis Approach to Parameter Estimation
We introduce an efficient level set framework to parameter estimation problems governed by parametrized partial differential equations. The main ingredients are: (i) an “admissible region” approach to parameter estimation; (ii) the certified reduced basis method for efficient and reliable solution of parametrized partial differential equations; and (iii) a parameter-space level set method for c...
متن کاملA reduced basis approach to large-scale pseudospectra computation
For studying spectral properties of a non-normal matrix A ∈ Cn×n, information about its spectrum σ(A) alone is usually not enough. Effects of perturbations on σ(A) can be studied by computing ε-pseudospectra, that is the level-sets of the resolvent norm function g(z) = ‖(zI−A)‖2. The computation of ε-pseudospectra requires determining the smallest singular values σmin(zI − A) on for all z on a ...
متن کاملAdaptive-hierarchical filtering approach for noise removal
In this paper, we present an adaptive-hierarchical filter that can remove the impulse noise while preserving the details in an image. The global image structure, which is estimated from a set of pyramid images, can be used as prior information in order to apply different filters adaptively. The proposed filter outperforms other methods in that it can make use of both local and global informatio...
متن کاملDouble-rotated Matched Filtering
Using the concept of steerable filters, it is possible to represent the rotation of a known template – and thus arbitrary orientations of lines or edges – as a linear combination of a fixed number of base filters, thus allowing a computationally efficient detection of 1D structures. In spite of their usefulness in many image processing areas, such structures exhibit one important drawback: Due ...
